Effect study of Astragalus injection on urine protein in children with nephrotic syndrome

Objective It is to observe the effect of Astragalus injection on urine protein and plasma protein in children with nephrotic syndrome.Methods 30 children with nephrotic syndrome were randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group (17 cases) was treated with prednisone and Astragalus injection, and the control group (13 cases) was treated with prednisone only.Results After treatment for one month, clinical symptom and blood biochemical indexes and so on in treatment group were obviously improved. The 24 h urine protein was decreased while the plasma protein was increased in the treatment group. There were significant differences between the two groups ( P 0.01).Conclusion Astragalus injection has obvious curative effect on children with nephrotic syndrome, especially in decreasing the urine protein and increasing the plasma protein.
