Efficacy of intra-articular injection of combination of sodium hyaluronate and compound Betamethasone in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis

Objective:To investigate the effect of the combination of sodium hyaluronate and compound Betamethasone in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.Methods:A total of 110 cases of osteoarthritis of the knee were randomly and single-blinded divided into two groups,including 55 cases in combined experimental group,who were treated with the injection into knee articular cavity of 20 mg sodium hyaluronate once a week for a duration of 5 weeks,and on the first time of administration,1 ml compound Betamethasone was also injected combined with sodium hyaluronate.Another 55 cases in control group were treated with the same therapy but with the replacement of compound Betamethasone by saline.Results:Both of the Lequence indexes,blood serum NO and IL-1β of the two groups decreased compared with pre-therapy(P0.05),while the data of experimental group decreased more significantoy(P0.05).The overall effective rates of the two groups were 98.2% and 78.2%,respectively(P0.05).There was no statistical difference between the two groups in the incidence of the side-effects.Conclusion:Intea-articular injection of combination of sodium hyaluronate and compound Betamethasone in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis has better therapeutic effect than the administration of sodium hyaluronate alone.
