Effect of intraarticular injection of hyaluronate sodium and compound betamethasone in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis

Objective To discuss the rapeutic effect of intraarticular injection of hyaluronate sodium andcompound betamethasone in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.Methods 64 cases of rheumatoid arthritis were randomly divided into two groups,including 32 cases in combined treatment group,who were injected intraarticularly both 2 ml hyaluronate sodium and 1 ml compound betamethasone at the first week,but only 2 ml hyaluronate sodium was injected,once a week in the following four weeks and 32 cases in control group,who were treated with 2ml hyaluronate sodium once a week for 5 consecutive weeks.The two groups were followed up for 3 months.Results The overall effective rate were 90.63% and 78.13% in the combined treatment group and the control group respectively,5 weeks after administration and 3 months after withdrawal.There was statistical difference between groups in the treatment outcome(P0.05).Conclusion The combination of hyaluronate sodium and compound betamethasone and hyaluronate sodium alone for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis can present effectiveness but the former is superior to the latter.
