Application of lidocaine hydrochloride gel in patients with prostatauxe urine retention

Objective To study the clinical effect of application of Lidocaine Hydrochloride on the patients with prostatauxe urine retention. Methods 68 patients with prostatauxe urine retention were divided into two groups at random (each group with 34 cases). In urethral catheterization, the observation group used Lidocaine Hydrochloride Gel to lubricate the urinary catheter and the control group used paraffin oil routinely. Results There were statistical significances in degree of pain and successful rate of once urethral catheterization in the two groups (P0.05). There was no statistical significance in probability of hematuria (P0.05). Conclusions In urethral catheterization of the patients with prostatauxe urine retention, Lidocaine Hydrochloride Gel has an obvious analgesic and lubricant effect. It can reduce the pain and enhance the successful rate of urethral catheterization.
