Abstract
Objective To clarify the relation between the expression of P 53 protein and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in colorectal cancer cells and its clinical pathology and prognosis. Methods P 53 protein and PCNA were detected in 48 patients with colorectal cancer by immunohistochemistric technique. Results The positive rates of expressing P 53 protein and PCNA were 56.3% and 93.8% respectively, and the strong PCNA-positive rate was 66.7%, which were correlated with the histological type, invasion depth and lymph node metastasis significantly (p0.05).Conclusions It is significant in combining detection of P 53 protein and PCNA for evaluating malignant degree, predicting lymph node metastasis trend and prognosis.
