Abstract
Gas curtain employed in continuous casting tundish is one of important technologies to remove non-metallic inclusion with small size effectively. In the present work, the fluid flow and the phenomenon of entrainment of slag/metal interface in tundish with gas curtain were studied by water modeling, and the effects of gas flow rate, the placement of gas injector and the combination of turbulence controller on the slag/metal interface were investigated. The results show that the entrainment of slag in tundish with gas curtain was mainly affected by gas flow rate and the position of gas blowing.
