Abstract

The title core-shell structured vinyl acetate/acrylic emulsion was prepared using pre-emulsification technology and semi-continuous seed emulsion polymerization.The influence of weight ratio of hard and soft monomers,amount of emulsifier,weight ratio of emulsifiers in two phases of core and shell and weight ratio of functional monomers on the emulsion polymerization and the properties of emulsion was discussed.The results showed that a good performance emulsion was obtained at the following conditions:weight ratio of hard and soft monomers 65/25,emulsifier content 3% by weight and weight ratio of emulsifier in two phases of core and shell 1.5~2,weight ratio of functional monomers(HEMA/N-MMA/AA)2/1/5.
