Abstract
The title core-shell structure acrylic emulsion has been developed by use of pre-emulsification technology and semi-continuous seed emulsion polymerization. The influence of ratio of hard and soft monomers, initiator, emulsifier, and polymerization temperature on performance of emulsion is studied. It has shown that a good performance emulsion is obtained at the following conditions: ratio of hard and soft monomers 1∶1~ 1∶1.25, initiator 0.5%, emulsifier 3%~4% and temperature (80±1) ℃. The structure of the title emulsion is characterized by use of FT-IR, TEM and DSC, indicating existing of core-shell structure.
