Abstract
A core-shell structure styrene-acrylic emulsion was prepared by seed emulsion polymerization. The influences of seed emulsion amount, ratio of hard/soft monomers, amount of acrylic acid, emulsifier and initiator on the emulsion polymerization, stability of emulsion and coating film properties were discussed. Results showed that: the proper content of seed emulsion is 12%~14%, and the ratio of monomers is St∶MMA∶BA=8∶5∶7;In the four-unit polymerization of St-MMA-BA-AA, the appropriate ratio of hard/soft monomers is St∶MMA/∶BA=32∶28∶50; And the best constitutes of composite emulsifier is Oπ-10∶SDS=1~2∶1. Initiator should be trickled constantly and the appropriate content of it is 0.5%~0.6%.
