Abstract
Objective To explore the expression of osteopontin(OPN)in colon cancer, and analyze the relationship between its expression and clinicopathologic features. Methods The expression of OPN was detected by immunohistochemistry in 60 cases of colon cancer tissues and 50 cases of tumor-adjacent tissues. Results The positive rate of OPN expression in colon cancer tissues was 71.7%,which was much higher than that in tumor-adjacent tissues(P0.05).OPN expression was related with tumor invasive depth, differentiation and degree of lymphatic vessel invasion or long distant lymph node metastases(P0.05).Conclusion OPN plays an important role in the progression of colon carcinomas and may involve in the invasion and metastasis of colon carcinomas.
