The Significance of sICAM-1 Detection in Serum from Patients with Epithelium Ovarian Carcinoma

Abstract

Objective To find out the significance of sICAM in serum from patients with epithelium ovarian carcinoma.Methods Examined the concentration of serum intercellular adhesion molecular 1 (sICAM 1) by means of ELISA. Results The average concentration of sICAM 1 in epithelium ovarian carcinma was much higher than benign tumor and normal control ( P 0.001 ). The concentration and positive rate of sICAM 1 was higher in stage II～Ⅳ and cases with metastasis, while it had nothing to do with pathological types and degree of differentiation in ovarian carcinoma. Conclusion The examination of sICAM 1 is helpful for monitoring the state of ovarian carcinoma and judging prognosis.
