Clinical observation of “Hekun Decoction” for perimenopausal syndrome

Abstract
Objective This study is to observe the clinical efficacy of Hekun Decoction on perimenopausal syndrome. Methods Sixty patients with perimenopausal syndrome were randomized in treatment group and control group,with 30 cases in each group. The patients in treatment group were givenHekun Decoction,and the patients in control group were given Tibolone tablets or Kelimen tablets. Two groups were treated for three months. The clinical efficacy and the changes of clinical syndrome score were observed. Results The total effective rate of treatment group was 86. 7 % and that of control group was 90 %,with no significant difference between the two groups( P 0. 05); after the treatment,clinical syndrome score were significantly reduced in both of two groups( P 0. 01),with no significant difference between the groups( P 0. 05). ConclusionHekun Decoctionmay treat perimenopausal syndrome effectively,equally as hormone therapy does.
