Abstract
Objective To determine cut-off value of thyrotropin(TSH) for screening of congenital hypothyroidism(CH) of newborn in Changsha city,Hunan province. Methods Heel blood samples were taken from the newborns born after 72 hours, and were dropped on the stipulated filter paper to determine concentration of thyrotropin(TSH) by using enzyme-immunoassay method. Results The cut-off value of thyrotropin(TSH) for screening of congenital hypothyroidism(CH) of newborn in Changsha city was 8.5μIU/mL,according to the results of the analysis of 5 443 newborns'heel blood sample. Conclusion The determination of TSH cut-off value of newborn provides a basis for large scale screening of congenital hypothyroidism(CH) among the newborns in Changsha city.
