Abstract
Objective To evaluate the application of ultrasound-guided Mammotome minimally invasive biopsy system in the diagnosis and treatment of benign breast diseases.Methods The operations and biopsy for 111 breast lesions in 104 patients were performed by ultrasound-guided Mammotome system,and the diagnostic and therapeutic value of Mammotome system was evaluated.Results One hundred and eleven lesions in 104 patients were excised by the Mammotome system.The average time of excision was 15 and the duration of operation was 30 min.There were 78 fibroadenomas of breast,21 fibroadenosis and 12 cystic hyperplasia in 104 cases benign lesions.Conclusion Excision of benign breast lesions using ultrasound-guided Mammotome vacuum device is exact,minimally invasive,safe and feasible,especially suitable for benign breast lesions ≤3.0 cm in size. It deserves to be popularized.
