Abstract
To evaluate the application of ultrasound guided Mammotome minimally invasive biopsy system in the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases. The operations and biopsy for 144 breast lesions in 121 patients were performed by ultrasound guided Mammotome system , and the diagnostic and therapeutic values of Mammotome were evaluated. 144 lesions in 121 patients were excised by the Mammotome system. The times of incision were 15 and the duration of operations was 30min. There were 78 fibroadenoma of breast,21 fibroadenosis and 12 cystic hyperplasia in 104 cases benign lesions. There were 1 cystosarcoma of breast and 16 breast carcinoma in 17 cases malignant lesions. Application of Mammotome system in the excision of small breast fibroadenoma can be accurately guided by ultrasound. It can also be used to diagnose the suspicious lesions.
