Analysis of Knee Osteoarthritis Treatment Effect on 108 Cases of Ginger with Tongbi Mixture

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy and mechanism of action of Ginger with tongbi mixture on knee osteoarthritis.Methods: 108 patients with knee osteoarthritis from January 1,2009 to December 31,2011 were randomly divided into two groups.The treatment group was given the Bushen Tongdu capsules and Ginger with tongbi mixture,and the control group a kidney Tongdu capsule and diclofenac sodium sustained-release capsules.The course of treatment for the two groups were observed for four weeks.Pain,swelling,tenderness,joint range of motion and systemic symptoms of adverse reactions on both knees were observed before and after the treatment.Results: The clinical symptoms of the joints in the two groups both reduced significantly after treatmen(P0.05).The total effective rate of treatment group was 97.2% and the control group 84.1%.The total effective rate of treatment group is better than the control group(P0.05),especially the cure rate and effectual rate were significantly better than the control group(P0.05).The treatment effect on joint pain,swelling and fear cold cure rate of treatment group(P0.05) was significantly better than the control group(P0.05).The cases of adverse reactions in the control group were more than the treatment group(P0.05).Conclusion: The clinical efficacy on knees osteoarthritis by Ginger with tongbi mixture could be conspicuous.
