A Clinical Study on the Role of Jiangzhuo Decoction Combined with Simvastatin in the Regression of Carotid Atherosclerosis Plaque

Objective:This study was designed to investigate the effects of Jiangzhuo Decoction combined with simvastatin on the regression of carotid atherosclerosis plaque.Methods:156 patients with carotid atherosclerosis were randomly divided into two groups,76 patients in contrast group was given common medication and simvastatin,Jiangzhuo Decoction added to treat 80 patients in treat group.The varieties of TC,LDL-C,TG,IMT,Tmax,L,max,N and symptoms' melioration of two groups were compared.Results:There was no difference in each indexes between the two groups before treatment(P0.05).After treated for 12 weeks,the symptoms' melioration of treat group is significantly overmatched the contrast group(P0.05).TC,LDL-C,TG were decreased significantly after administration in both groups (P0.001),IMT,Tmax,L,max,N were decreased significantly after administration in treat group (P0.001),however,there were no difference in contrast group(P0.05).The difference was significant between the two groups(P0.001).Conclusion:Simvastatin combined with Jiangzhuo Decoction is more effective than Simvastatin alone in the regression of carotid atherosclerosis plaque.The mechanism is probably involved in decreasing filth,removing blood-stasis,and promoting blood circulation through lipid-lowering,anti-oxidation,anti-haematoblast,anti-concreting and neointimal-safeguarding.
