Abstract

【Objective】 To compare the effects of Zhibitai versus Simvastatin on lipid-lowering and atheromatous plaque resolution of carotid artery in patients with hyperlipemia.【Methods】 A total of 139 patients with hyperlipemia were randomly divided into Zhibitai group(n =69) and Simvastatin group(n =70),and both groups received Zhibitai(480 mg/d) and Simvastatin(20 mg/d) for 12 months, respectively. The blood lipid, creatine kinase, liver and renal function, and the carotid plaques before and after the treatment were determined by biochemical analyzer and Doppler ultrasonography, respectively.【Results】 TC,TG and LDL-C levels decreased(P 0.05),and HDL-C contents increased significantly(P 0.05) after Zhibitai or Simvastatin treatment. The atheromatous plaques of carotidartery in both groups showed obvious resolution, the difference between two groups was not statistically significant(P 0.05).【Conclusion】 The lipid-lowering efficacy and carotid plaque resolution of Zhibitai are similar to those of simvastain in patients with hyperlipemia.
