Clinical Study of Xinmaitong Capsule in Treating Dyslipidemias and Carotid Atherosclerosis

Objective To observe the clinical effect of Xinmaitong capsule in the treatment of dyslipidemia associated with carotid atherosclerosis.Methods According to the inclusion criteria,January 2009 to June 2010 Qinzhou city department of encephalopathy hospital of traditional Chinese medicine blood lipid of 80 cases with carotid atherosclerosis in patients with abnormal,they were randomly divided into treatment group of 41 cases and control group of 39 cases.The treatment group was given Xinmaitong capsule orally,the control group was given simvastatin tablets,treated continuously for 6 months,during treatment to avoid the other drugs affecting lipid metabolism and atherosclerosis.Two groups were observed before and after treatment in patients with serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) and high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) level and carotid IMT,total plaque score and plaque area.Results After 6 months of treatment,the serum concentrations of TC,TG,LDL-C level were significantly decreased,HDL-C levels increased significantly,the difference was statistically significant(P0.05);each carotid IMT,total plaque score decreased significantly,the differences were statistically significant(P0.05).Serious adverse reactions were not found in two groups of patients during treatment.Conclusion Xinmaitong capsule has anti-atherosclerosis effect of Tiaozhi,quite,efficacy and simvastatin tablets,and high safety,provide a new drug for clinical choice,worthy of further study.
