Abstract

Objective To investigate variations of serum myocardial enzymes and their clinical value in newborns with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).Methods Evaluated the clinical conditions in hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy by testing serum concentrations of AST, LDH, α-HBDH and CK in 105 cases of mild, moderate and severe hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy,as well as 32 healthy newborns, with rate-method.Results Serum levels of AST,CK,LDH and α-HBDH increased significantly in neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy compared with normal newborns(P0.05), and the enzymatic levels differed remarkably between the mild, the moderate and the severe(P0.05); the more severe the condition was, the higher the concentrations of myocardial enzymes were in newborns with HIE.Conclusion Changes in myocardial enzymes play important roles in early diagnosis and treatment in neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.
