Comparison the efficacy of mesh-plug tension-free hernioplasty with traditional hernioplasty in inguinal hernia

Objective To compare the effect of mesh-plug tension-free hernioplasty with traditional hernioplasty in treatment of inguinal hernia.Methods 98 patients with inguinal hernia received hernioplasty from January 2000 to December 2009,78 patients received the mesh-plug tension-free hernioplasty,20 patients received the traditional hernioplasty,operation time,bedside training time,postoperative hospital stay,scrotal hydrocele and the recurrence were observed.Results Compared to the traditional hernioplasty,the mesh-plug tension-free hernioplasty was with shorter operation time,shorter hospital stay,less scrotal hydrocele,lower of the recurrence rate,and the bedside training time was ahead of schedule.Conclusions Compared to the traditional hernioplasty,mesh-plug tension-free hernioplasty in the treatment of inguinal hernia has significant advantages,it is more suitable for clinical.
