Tension-free mesh plug hernioplasty for inguinal hernia:Report of 21 cases

Objective To summarize the therapeutic efficacy of Tension-free mesh plug hernioplasty for inguinal hernia.Methods A retrospective analysis based on the operation methods and follow-up documents was performed in 21 cases of inguinal hernia who accepted Tension-free mesh plug hernioplasty.Results The hernioplasty was successfully completed in 21 cases,1case was percolated liquid in the incisional and cured by drainaged and changed fresh dressing for the incisional in the five days later.there was no infection in the incisional and deeply tissue.20 cases were followed-up for 3-22 months(mean 13 months) revealed no recurrence,pain in inguinal or testicular atrophy.Conclusion Tension-free mesh plug hernioplasty is safe and feasible for inguinal hernia,with advantages of simplicity of performance,low recurrence,quick recovery and few complication compare with the traditional hernioplasty.
