Abstract

Objective: To discuss the methods and effect of endoscopic frontal sinus surgery (EFSS) in chronic frontal sinusitis. Methods: The surgical outcome and computed tomographic imaging in 56(108 sides) patients with chronic sinusitis were analyzed. The drainage patterns of frontal sinus (FS) were judged according to uncinate process. The cells of frontal recess were completely resected during the operation. Results: All 56 cases were found sinus ostium, and were enlarged. After the operation, all patients were followed up for 1~3 years. The frontal sinus ostium of 56 cases kept drainning. Conclusion:The frontal sinus ostium may keep drainning by cutting the cells of frontal recess completely.EFSS is the best treatment to chronic frontal sinusitis.
