Abstract
Objective: To develop effective methods for the quality control of Qizierxian capsule. Method: TLC was performed to identify Epimedium brevicornum Maxim, Cuscuta chinensis Lam, Curculigo orchioides and Salvia miltiorrhiza in Qizierxian capsule preparations . HPLC was used to determine the content of icariin. Results: The standard curve of icariin by HPLC was linear in the range of 1 - 300 μg/mL, r =0. 9996. The minimum determination consents was 0. 2 μg/mL, the average recovery of icariin was 96. 6% , (n = 5). Conclusion: The methods are simple, sensitive and accurate. These studies provide the scientific base for quality control of Qizierxian capsule.
