Treatment of supraventricular tachyarrhythmias by intravenous esmolol

Abstract

Objective To determine the efficacy and safety of intravenous esmolol on supraventricular tachyarrhythmias. Methods patients with tachyarrhythmias were divided randomizely into test esmolol group and normal saline control group. Results In the test esmolol group, percent of the cases achieved good therapeutical response. There is significant difference between the two group( P 0.01). Conclusion The effect of intravenous esmolol for the treatment of supraventricular tachyarrhythmia is definite and safe.
