Clinical effect of esmolol in patients with supraventricular tachyarrythmia

Abstract

Objective:To observe the efficacy and safety of esmolol in treating patients with supraventricular tachyarrythmia.Methods:38 patients with supraventricular tachyarrythmias were treated with intravenous esmolol under moniter of ECG.Sinus rhythm,controlling the rate of ventricle and the changes in blood pressure were recorded.Results: The total effective rate was 84.2%.Hypotension occurred in three patients and resolved within 30 min after discontinuation of esmolol infusion.Conclusions: Esmolol is effective in the treatment of supraventricular tachyarrythmias with fewer side effects.
