Abstract
Objective To further observe the efficacy and safety of Chinese esmolol on supracventricular tachyarrhythmias .Methods 110 patients were divided into therapeutic group and controlled group randomly .The former were treated with esmolol and the latter were trated with amiodarone .Esmolol and amiodarone were injected intravenously at doses of 1~3 mg/kg and 5~10 mg/kg respectively .The patients of therapeutic group who had achieved the therapeutic response were divided into oral metoprolol group and controlled group randomly .Results ①The effective rate of esmolol and amiodarone is 74 55% and 81 82% respectively .There was no significant difference between two groups( P 0 05);Also therapeutic effect of domestic esmolol was similar to the result obtained from foreign country clinical trial. ②The recurrence rate of oral metoprolol group was less than that of controlled group .There was significant difference between two groups (19 05% VS 65 00% P 0 01).③The most frequent adverse effect of esmolol observed during the study was hypotension and that of amiodarone was sinus bradycardia. Conclusion It is effective and safe that administering intravenous esmolol to patients with supraventricular tachyarrhythmias .And the majority of patients successfully treated with esmolol can be transferred to oral long-half betal-adrenergic blocking agents without the loss of the therapeutic response.
