Fracture Failure Analysis of a Balance Bolt

Abstract

For balance bolt fracture in test,displacement,stress and LCF of the balance bolt were calcu-lated at the test conditions.In order to investigate the reasons that caused the bolt fracture,the stress of balance bolt was analyzed on condition that bolt diameter was increased and the bolt thread was short-ened.Chemical composition and fractography of bolt material also were analyzed.Finally the fracture reasons and the design deficiency of the bolt were discovered.
