Abstract
Analysis of a failed bolt used for fastening cylinder cover in 4M50 compressor was conducted by the methods of fractography, chemical composition analysis, metallographic, hardness and impact tenacity. The bolt was made of 35CrMoA steel. It was shown that the microstructure and chemical composition of the failed bolt were normal, and mechanical property met the technology criterion.Failure of the bolt was caused by fatigue fracture.
