Summary of and End to Classical Tang's Poetics in Qing Dynasty

Abstract

The classical Tang poetics ascends to its integrated stage when it comes to the Qing Dynasty,which witnesses the frequent rise and fall of those comprehensive poetic schools such as Shenyun(Spirit and Aura) School,Gediao(character and tone) School,Xingling(Nature and Soul School,Jili(Muscular Texture) School,Tongcheng(Tong City) School,Song Poetry School,and the Persuasion of Han-Wei-and-Six-Dynasty Poetry.Poets with unique styles like Qian Qianyi,Wang Fuzhi,Ye Xie,Zhu Yizhun,Liu Xizai and Wang Guowei crop up constantly and enrich the Tang Poetics in the Qing Dynasty in various aspects.Unprecedented changes have surfaced in terms of the construction of poetic principles,annotation,selection,commentary and compilation of poetry.This paper describes the evolvement of the Tang Poetics in the Qing Dynasty and highlights its unique place and role in the whole history of Tang Poetics in the Qing Dynasty.
