On the Poetic Ideal of Mutual Generation of Sentiment and Reason in the Yuan Dynasty

The research on poetic theory of the Yuan dynasty used to focus on all kinds of poetics and poetry as the subject of research.Taking Complete Literature of Yuan Dynasty,which was newly published,as the subject of research,we come to this conclusion: the poetics of Yuan dynasty attached great importance to sentiments and by stressing both the past and the present,worshipping the ancient instead of rigidly adhering to the ancient.Poets in the Yuan dynasty learned from many outstanding poets in the history,and the poetic theory followed the Tang dynasty externally and the Song dynasty internally,pursuing the change based on the Tang and Song dynasties.
