Abstract

A new catalytic kinetic spectrophotometry method for the determination of trace chromium has been developed. It is based on the catalytic effect of Cr? on the oxidation of potassium bromate with chlorophosponazoⅢ in diluted sulphuric acid medium. The linear range of Cr? is 0.02~1.0?μg/mL,and the detection limit is 0.005?μg/mL. The method is accurate, sensitive, simple with a stable system. It has been widely applied to the determination of chromiumin water with satisfactory results.
