Abstract
A new kinetic method for the determination of trace chromium(Ⅵ) was established based on the catalytic action of Cr(Ⅵ) on the oxidative fading reaction between butylrhodamine B and KBrO 3 in sulfuric acid mediun. The calibration graph was linear in the range of 0.040~2.0 μg/mL for Cr(Ⅵ), and the detection limit was 9.68×10 -10 g/mL. The method has been used for the determination of trace chromium in the eletroplating waste water with a satisfactory result.
