Abstract
Aim To evaluate the efficacy and safety of sublingual immunotherapy with dermatophagoides farianae drops in patients with allergic rhinitis. Methods Sixty-two patients with allergic rhinitis due to dust mites received sublingual immunotherapy with dermatophagoides farinae drops for about 25 weeks, conjunct with standard drug therapy in the beginning phase to relieve the symptoms.Scores of rhinitis symptoms and the medication use were assessed before and after the treatment.Adverse events were observed throughout the trial. Results Thirteen patients(21.0%)showed excellent efficacy,thirty-seven patients(59.7%)moderate efficacy, and twelve patients(19.4%)no significant efficacy.Side effect occured in 3 cases. No serious adverse events were reported.70% of allergic subjects were effectively improved in the first month. Conclusion Dermatophagoides farinae drops is safe and effective in treating allergic rhinitis, and has favourable clinical values.
