Expression and significance of Survivin and PKA in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues

Objective To investigate the expression of Survivin and PKA in epithelial ovarian cancer tissue and correlation with clinical relevant indicators. Methods Expression intensity of Survivin and PKA were detected by SP method of immunohistochemistry in 48 cases of epithelial ovarian cancer tissues(the ovarian cancer group),the relation-ship between clinical indicators and Survivin and PKA expressions were also analysed.The 43 cases with benign epithelial ovarian tumor were taken as the control group. Results The positive expression rate of Survivion was 14.0% (6/ 43) in benign epithelial ovarian tumor and 83.3%(40/48) in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues respectively;the positive expression rate of PKA was 90.7%(39/43) in benign epithelial ovarian tumor and 52.1% (25/48) in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues respectively,there was a statistical diferrence between the two groups ( P0.01).Positive expression rate of Survivin and PKA was discrepant evidently in the TNM clinic stages and different degree of cancer cell differentiation. Conclusions There was a high expression of Survivin and low expression of PKA in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues and the expression relates to clinical indicators.It suggested both not only involved in epithelial ovarian cancer, might be related to the malignant progression of tumors.
