Postoperative patient controlled intravenous analgesia with flurbiprofen axetil combined with sufentanil after gastrointestinal surgery

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of postoperative patient controlled intravenous analgesia(PCIA) with both flurbiprofen axetil and sufentanil after gastrointestinal surgery.Methods Patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgery(n=100) were randomly divided into four groups with 25 each.They received PCIA after operation with the loading dose 2 ml,lockout time 15 minutes and background infusion rate 2 ml/h.The PCIA formulation in each group was as follows: group A: sufentnil 150 μg in 100 ml;group B: flurbiprofen 200 mg+sufentanil 50 μg in 100 ml;group C:flurbiprofen 200 mg+sufentanil 100 μg in 100 ml;group D: flurbiprofen 200 mg+sufentanil 150 μg in 100 ml.VAS,Ramsay sedation scale,patient pressing times and the adverse effects were recorded 2,4,12,24 h after surgery.Results The analgesic effects in patients of group C and D were better than those in group A and B(P0.05).The numbers of pressing times in group C and D were less than those in group A and B(P0.05).The incidences of nausea and vomiting,lethargy in group B and C were significantly lower than those in group A and D(P0.05).Conclusion PCIA with both flurbiprofen axetil 200 mg and sufentanil 100 μg is effective for postoperative pain for gastrointestinal surgery.
