Different Thinking Modes between Chinese and English and the Effects on Expressions

Because of differences of environment,historical background,production mode and social structure,Chinese nation and English nation follow different thinking modes,which are reflected in the forms of language expression.In general,the Chinese is inclined to thinking in images,viewing things in entirety and consciousness of subject,while the English is in favor of abstract thinking,individual thinking and places special emphasis on consciousness of object.Such different thinking modes are the cause of the differences of language forms between Chinese and English.
