The Difference between English and Chinese Systax from the Perpective of Western and Chinese Thinking Mode

The differences in thinking mode between Chinese and western nations are discussed from the perspective of syntax: the paratactic syntactical structure of Chinese language is generated by the Chinese thinking mode of viewing the situation as a whole,while the hypotactic syntactical structure of English language by the Westerners' thinking mode of analyzing the problem in depth;the different Chinese and English syntactical orders of space,time and logic are the reflections of the thinking mode that Chinese has the rule of iconicity of the space,time and logic of things whereas Westerners attaches great importance to the objective consciousness;the English pattern of emphasizing unknown information and the Chinese structure of stressing known information reflect the different thinking modes of the Westerners' being open-minded,pursuing diversity and Chinese people's being restrained,pursuing identity.
