Expressions of Livin and Caspase-9 in Gastric Carcinoma Tissue and Their Relationship

Objective To study the expressions of apoptosis inhibitor livin and caspase-9 proteins in tissue of human gastric carcinoma,and to explore the relationship between their expressions and clinical pathology parameters,and correlation between livin expression and caspase-9 expression.Methods The expressions of livin and caspase-9 in gastric carcinoma tissues and normal gastric mucosa were detected by immunohistochemistry streptavidin peroxidase method.Results In gastric carcinoma tissues,the positive expressive rate of livin was significantly higher than that in normal gastric mucosa(P0.05).and expression of livin was inversely correlated with the histological differentiation of the tumor,lymph node metastasis and clinical stage(P0.05);the positive expressive rate of caspase-9 was significantly lower than that in normal gastric mucosa,and expression of caspase-9 was inversely correlated with the lymph node metastasis and clinical stage(P0.05).There was a significant negative correlation between the expressions of livin and caspase-9 protein in gastric carcinoma tissues(r=-0.280,P0.05).Conclusion Livin and caspase-9 are associated with occurrence and development of gastric cancer,and the expressions of the two are negatively correlated.
