Clinical observation of small incision cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation

Objective To observe and investigate the clinical effect of small incision cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation.Methods 180 cases of patients from June 2008 to June 2011 with cataract were selected,and small incision cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation were performed on them.The success rate of surgery,postoperative complication,visual situation and some other data were observed and recorded for a comprehensive assessment of the treatment.Results There were 140 eyes(70.7%) with vision acuity above 0.5 level,42 eyes(21.2%) with vision acuity between 0.2-0.4 level,16 eyes (8.1%) with vision acuity below 0.1 level by detecting in one week.Also there are 2 eyes with capsula broken,22 eyes with corneal edema,8 eyes with hyphema were detected,and these situation have been changed after careful treatment.Conclusion Small incision cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation have many advantages like low cost,high probability of success,little injury to patients,easy to operate,reliable curative effect and fewer complications on the treatment of cataract,it worth being widely used for clinical treatment.
