Abstract

Objective To discuss the comprehension of cataract extraction in small incision combined with intraocular lens implantation in primary level hospital and estimate the efficacy of this method. Methods In this study, 522 cataractous patients(562 eyes) in our hospital accepted cataract extraction in small incision combined with intraocular lens implantation. Results All cases were followed for 3-6 months. In this group 9.43%(53 eyes ) visual acuity was 0.05-0.4, and 90.57%(509 eyes) visual acuity was more than 0.5, and 31.14%(175 eyes) visual acuity was 0.8-1.5. In the operation, 4.98% (28 eyes) vitreous were prolapsed, and postoperatative 9.43% (84 eyes) corneal endothelium were edema, and 9.43%(53 eyes) cases was posterior capsular opacification. There were no serious complications. Conclusions This surgery method is useful in primary level hospital, and it can get a good result.
