Abstract
Objective To pharmacoeconomically evaluate two medications on bronchopneumonia in children. Methods 67 cases with bronchopneumonia were divided into two groups A and B. Group A includes 32 cases was accepted sequential therapy of Cefriaxone Cefaclor while group B includes 35 cases with successive intravenous Ceftriaxone. Using cost-minimization analysis two therapeutic schems were compared. Results The effectiveness had not significant difference in two groups P0.05the reduced average cost of antibiotic cost for treatment during hospitalization and total cost for treatment were significant in group A than group B P0.01. Conclusion The present study showed that sequential therapy with Ceftriaxone Cefaclor is a safe effective and economic medication on bronchopneumonia in children.
