On the Three Chinese Poetic Categories of Stephen Owen’s English Translation of Tang Poetry

The ancient Chinese poetics,on the basis of modernized modification and modern translation theories,is likely to contribute to the poetic translation study.Stephen Owen’s English translation views of Chinese poetry,are similar to some Chinese poetic categories,namely the three important Chinese classical aesthetic views as scenes into heart directly,feeling of the scene from the heart and harmonious interfusion of feeling and scene.He displays the aesthetic subjectivity at the three levels,activating the aesthetic mind ability,text producing ability and cultural compensation ability,to maximize the aesthetic effect of translated poetry.The literary aesthetic activities are in harmony with the cultural aesthetic activities to make his translated poems a model of literary and cultural translation.
