Pharmacoeconomical analysis of fleroxacin and gatifloxacin in treatment of respiratory bacterial Infection

OBJECTIVE To analyze the cost-effectiveness of fleroxacin and Gatifloxacin in treatment of respiratory bacterial infection.METHODS 102 cases with bacterial infection were randomly divided into 2 groups,in which they were treated with fleroxacin and Gatifloxacin respectively.The cost-effectiveness in two groups was analyzed and compared with each other by pharmacoeconomical methods.RESULTS There was no significant difference in therapeutic effect between two groups(P0.05),such as effective rates of 90.2% and 92.2%,bacterial clearance rates of 93.2% and 95.5% and undesired event rates of 13.73% and 11.76% in fleroxacin group and gatifloxacin group However,there was significant difference in cost-effectiveness ratio between two group,7.0 and 9.3 respectively in fleroxacin group and gatifloxacin group(P0.05).CONCLUSION Fleroxacin has cost-effective advantage over gatifloxacin in the treatment of urinary tract infection.
