Abstract

AIM To optimize a reasonable form of prepared drugs to treat peptic ulcer (PU) effectively and without side effects. METHODS We compared the curative effects of two forms of prepared drugs manufactured in the same prescription. RESULTS Jianwei Yuyang granule was more effective than Jianwei Yuyang tablet ( P 0 01). One hundred cases of PU were treated with Jianwei Yuyang granule with a cure rate of 68% and a total effective rate of 97%; while in 50 cases treated with the tablet, the cure rate was 48% and the total effective rate was 88%. Moreover, Jianwei Yuyang granule relieved pain more quickly than the tablet and without toxic and side effects. CONCLUSION Granule is the relatively ideal form of prepared drugs to treat peptic ulcer.
