Abstract
With different concentrations of refuse leachate as mutagen,the mitotic index,micronucleus frequency and chromosome aberration frequency of Vicia faba Root-tip Cells are determined.by micronucleus assay and chromosome aberration assay.The results indicated that the cell mitotic index in Vicia faba root tip cells should be decreased by refuse leachate,while a higher frequency of either micronucleus or chromosome aberration and chromosomal segments,bridges and laggards should attain.The cell mitotic index decreased when the concentration of refuse leachate increases in a certain range,however,the frequency of micronucleus and chromosome aberration could increase,but an increase in the exceeding range should lead to a decrease of the chromosome aberration frequency which is still higher than the control group.
