Abstract
Objective The purpose of this paper was to research the mechanism of complications with polyacrylamide hydrogel injected for augmentation mammoplasty, and to explore a simple, safe and reliable treatment means. Methods reviewing the materials of 1*!432 cases accepted polyacrylamide hydrogel injection for augmentation mammoplasty and the experience of treatment of complications in our word since 1998. Results 262 patients suffered from complications such!as nodule formation and hematoma, satisfactory clinical treatment results have been obtained. Conclusion this study suggests that the characters of the breast tissue and the wound of retromammary gap tissue play an important role in the pathogenesis of complications. The means of treatment of complications were relatively simple, proper treatment always lead to an excellent clinical results.
