Abstract
Based on census data of Shandong province, the Unbalanced Coefficient, Population Gravity Center, Spatial Autocorrelation is used to understand the characteristics of the spatial distribution of population and the space-time dynamics of Shandong. The empirical results show that: ① The spatial distribution of population density of Shandong has the following characteristics: high in the west and lower in the east, high in the south and lower in the north, densely populated areas in Shandong presentXstructure; ② The re-distribution of the population experienced a weak-to-strong process. ③The population gravity center moves back and forth in the Northeast- Southwest. ④ The population distribution displays space correlation, and the Moran's I of it decreased in the study period.
