Therapeutic effect of the traditional Chinese medicine-weichangnianmobaohu powder on peptic ulcer

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of the traditional Chinese medicine weichangnianmobaohu powder on peptic ulcer.Methods 300 patients in treatment group were treated with weichangnianmobaohu powder;150 patients in control group were treated with ranitidine capsule.The therapeutic effect was evaluated after 42 day administration,and the recurring situation of peptic ulcer was observed one year after withdrawal.Results The total effective rates were 98.33% and 91.33% in treatment group and in control group respectively;the cure rates were 86.66% and 74.67% respectively,there was no significant difference in short term therapeutic effect between the two groups (P0.05).The recurrence rates of peptic ulcer one year after withdrawal were 2.31% and 73.21% in treatment group and in control group respectively,there was significant difference in recurrence rate between the two groups (P0.05).Conclusion The short term therapeutic effect of traditional Chinese medicine weichangnianmobaohu powder on peptic ulcer is similar to that of ranitidine capsule,but it is much better than ranitidine capsule in the effect of preventing the peptic ulcer recurrence.
