Abstract

Objective To explore the relationship between malignancy of glioma and mRNA expression of MT1-MMP gene.Methods The mRNA expression of MT1-MMP gene in 34 gliomas and 7 normal brain tissues(from epileptic focus resection)was detected by quantitative real-time RT-PCR method.Results By Real-time RT-PCR method,the △△Ct(cycle threshold)values of the normal brain tissue and low-grade,high-grade glioma were 0.834 ± 0.517,4.063 ± 2.309,and 7.072 ± 4.072 respectively.There was statistical significance of difference between normal brain tissue and low-grade,high-grade glioma,and between low-grade and high-grade glioma(P 0.05).Conclusion The mRNA expression of MT1-MMP gene is up-regulated in glioma,and increases with the malignancy grade of glioma.
